If you are excited they will be too. Shake the NoNo Can while they are engaged in the mis-behavior. Its a loud clanking sound. Its designed to get dogs attention. No need in raising your voice, or acting out any kind of intimidation methods.
DO NOT SHAKE IT AT THEM AFTER THEY HAVE DONE SOMETHING 🚫🚫🚫!!! It doesn't work that way. Remember "Distract Not Punish"
Look At Meee
Let's redirect that energy towards something good. They are all ready excited, why not let that excitement carry into a command or at least something that is not destructive or disruptive.
Ex: Eating a shoe...give them a toy to chew on instead. Ex: Jumping on the guest...use that moment to work on the sit command.
Make it Fun For Them
Why would your dog STOP doing something it thinks is fun? Your dog loves mental stimulation. Commands force them to link and grow. Us that! After they have stopped the unwanted behavior, looked to you for guidance of what they should do, and then began doing that thing...They deserve a reward! Its a big deal for a dog. Train your dog to love to pay attention to you.
